All about Cat

2004 Olmsted County Provider of the Year

Many people ask me where I got the name Cat.  My parents named me Catherine.  I changed my name to Cat (Cathy growing up) when I went away to college and it just stuck.  I grew up in Illinois and met my husband in Minnesota while going to college.

I have a wonderfully kind and patient husband named Terry.  We have been married for 13 years.  He even comes home for lunch to help me out.  What a great guy!

We have two beautiful daughters, Anna and Sara.  They are the light of my life.  It is amazing how different two children can be coming from the same gene pool!

I am an animal lover and hope to someday have a hobby farm.  Right now we have 2 dogs and one cat.  Each spring we incubate duck eggs and raise the ducklings for 4-5 weeks.  Last year we had 5 ducklings for 5 weeks.

In my spare time I like to do web design, work on my computer, do photography, garden, read, and do home improvement projects.

My main focus being a preschool teacher is to help children feel good about themselves and have to fun.  It is always a nice feeling to have kids NOT want to go home at the end of the day.  I want children to be excited to come to my school and tell everyone they know how much fun THEIR school is.

It is amazing how much you can learn about every day things when seeing it through a child's point of view.

One thing I ask everyone who reads this to remember... always tell your children how special they are and tell them how much you love them every day.  Those simple words make your child's world complete.
